Allergies
ALLERGIES IN THE ENT FIELD – MORE THAN JUST HAY FEVER
Allergies are a common cause of ear, nose, and throat problems. Pollen allergies (hay fever), dust mite allergies, or animal hair allergies in particular can significantly impair quality of life – often for years.
Typical symptoms include:
- Stuffy or runny nose
- Sneezing, itching, watery eyes
- Reduced sense of smell
- Frequent infections, coughing, throat clearing
- Fatigue, concentration problems, poor sleep
If left untreated, allergies can progress into deeper respiratory pathways – known as a “level shift” – and may lead to allergic asthma.
Treatment options in our practice:
- Allergy testing (skin prick test, possibly blood tests) to identify triggers
- Medication (nasal sprays, eye drops, tablets)
- Hyposensitization (specific immunotherapy) – the only causal treatment for allergies, retraining the immune system to tolerate triggers
- Complementary approaches: kinesiology and bioresonance
- Counseling on allergen avoidance and practical everyday strategies
Kinesiology for unclear allergies:
Sometimes allergic symptoms cannot be explained by conventional testing. In such cases, kinesiological diagnostics may help by using muscle testing to assess reactions to certain stimuli (e.g., food, pollen, additives).
This does not replace conventional diagnostics but may serve as a useful supplement, especially when symptoms persist without a clear cause.
